Course Description

This is an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR course for healthcare providers such as first responders, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, police officers, dental professionals and healthcare students. Topics covered include: infant, child and adult CPR, choking emergencies, and use of the AED. Textbook is required: Basic Life Support Manual (2020 edition). It can be purchased from the Lakeland Bookstore or buy from an online vendor. Electronic cards (e-cards) will be e-mailed within one week of class to each student, valid for two years.

Temporary rules during COVID-19:

All students must wear their own mask into the H building and during the entire duration of the course. It must cover the nose and mouth.
You will be assigned a seat and a manikin. We will maintain social distancing for the duration of the class.
Bring your own pencil or pen. We will not be supplying any pens or pencils.
Frequent hand washing and/or use of hand sanitizer is expected.

We will be taking temperatures at the entrance to the H building. No one with a temperature above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will be allowed entry.
