Clinical Issues with the LGBTQ+ Population (Ethics)

During this training, practioners will learn about specific issues relating to quality of life that will impact clinical work when working with people of the LGBTQ+ population. Specific attention will be paid to those who identify as transgender or nonconforming and will include sexual health, the complicated process of coming out, and how to help navigate the coming our process in different communities and cultures. Ethics: The course will assist clinicians with interacting in appropriate and ethical ways, taking into consideration the specific differences and challenges facing the community. Through having a greater understanding of the community, clinicians will be more aware of appropriate ways to treat and interact with clients and peers. Early-bird deadline: April 13. (3 hours). Provides ethics continuing education for counselors and social workers. Can be taken by nurses for continung education. Can be taken by speech-language pathologists/audiologists for ethics hours.
