All parents want their children to be happy, and strive to prepare them to eventually become independent, thoughtful, caring and productive individuals. Yet, many parents lack knowledge of which techniques are most successful in yielding such results, and as a consequence their well-intended efforts often fail or even backfire. This workshop provides helping professionals with essential and researched information on the dos and don'ts of parental practices which can be shared with parents of children and teens of all ages, making their child-rearing more effective, and the desired outcomes for their children much more likely. (4 Hours) Early-bird deadline to save $10 is Sept. 11. Provides continuing education for counselors, nurses and social workers. Instructor: James Kargakos, M.A.
